The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower our nation's veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military. Wounded Warrior Project has helped hundreds of thousands of veterans recover from the wounds they received in service to our country – at no cost to them.

As of January 2023, WWP is serving more than 230,000 warriors, family members and caregivers offering life-changing services in mental health, career counseling, long-term rehabilitative care. These programs and services improve the lives of millions of veterans and their families.

While progress is being made, many still need help and those that are getting support will continue to need it in the years to come. According to the 2022 Wounded Warrior Project Annual Warrior Survey, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression continue to rank as top service-related health issues among WWP warriors.

According to the Veterans Administration’s 2022 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report, veteran suicide rates are 57% higher than non-veterans, with greater than 1 in 4 veterans reporting suicidal thoughts in the last year. For veterans between the ages of 18-44, suicide was the second leading cause of death.

Thousands of veterans are still suffering in silence from the visible and invisible wounds they received during their military service, and they will continue to need the life-saving services that WWP provides.

WWP does not accept government funding and relies on the donations of individuals and companies. Learn more about the impact that your donations help make on the lives of wounded warriors.
